A Big Pine Key man was arrested Wednesday after chasing a woman off his property with a machete, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Tucker, 48, was charged with aggravated assault.
No one was injured.
Deputies responded to a call at Breezy Pines RV Estates around 2 p.m. The caller said a man with a machete was yelling and chasing a woman. Deputies found the caller sitting with Tucker.
Tucker said he had been drinking and appeared intoxicated, reports state. He said he recently broke up with his girlfriend, who was at the residence, and was arguing with her when one of her friends arrived. He said he chased the visitor off the property with a machete.
A machete was found on Tucker’s property.
Tucker was taken to jail and was being held on $10,000 bond.
