A Cudjoe Key woman was arrested Wednesday for DUI after witnesses flagged down a deputy to report a reckless driver.
Erin Constance Salveson, 29, was charged with DUI.
Around 5:51 p.m., a Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputy was near Mile Marker 17 when two people flagged him down and reported a reckless driver. The witnesses told the deputy that a yellow Jeep almost caused an accident by “pushing” southbound traffic to the side of the roadway, according to the report.
About five minutes later, two other deputies reported pulling over the Jeep and met with the driver, identified as Salveson. The deputies immediately noticed signs of impairment, including slow movements and droopy eyelids, according to the report. The deputies also noted that the vehicle had been weaving in its lane prior to being pulled over.
Salveson agreed to perform a field sobriety test, but ultimately failed. She was transported to the Key West DUI room, where her breath sample came back as .189.
Salveson was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Detention Center. She was released the next day after posting a $2,500 bond.
