If you haven’t seen The Flag Man — aka Douglas Miller — running along North Roosevelt Boulevard recently, there is a good reason.

Miller, a long-time Key West fixture, former mortgage broker and enthusiastic flag-waver, has been hospitalized on and off since Feb. 20 for a mysterious recurring infection that has now spread to his spinal column.
