As of Monday, Lower Keys Medical Center had 10 COVID-19 patients.

Two of those patients were in the Intensive Care Unit and one was receiving ventilator care, hospital spokeswoman Lynn Corbett-Winn said.

While the hospital currently has sufficient bed capacity and staffing, it changed its status from Green to Yellow Surge, which denotes a deviation from normal operations for facilitation of patient transfers to higher levels of care outside of the community, she said.

“Our upstream partners are working diligently with us to provide those higher levels of care for our patients,” Corbett-Winn said.
