City installs art

From left, Monroe County Council of the Arts Director Liz Young, McKendry Builders’ George Lyons, who helped with the pad installation, artist Adam Russell and his wife, Kelly Lever, and City Commissioner Clayton Lopez attend the installation of Russell’s work ‘Red Column’ on Duval Street.

A fifth sculpture was installed this week at the Duval Pocket Park at the south end of Duval Street.

Adam Russell’s “Red Column” is on loan as part of the City of Key West’s Art in Public Places program. Last week, four pieces of art were installed, and one more remains to fill out the Art in Public Places plan.

The other works in place are by artists Bill Lorraine, Tim Marshall Trish Pleasant and Paula Effio.
