DPS Troopers disrupted a human smuggling attempt in Val Verde County on January 11, 2023. During the stop, two passengers bailed out and ran. They were apprehended and charged with evading. Two illegal immigrants were discovered in the trunk and referred to Border Patrol. The driver was charged with human smuggling, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
