Martha Taylor Stewart passed away peacefully on her 87th birthday, Jan 5, 2022. She was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother and a beloved member of the Key West Nursing Community for more than 40 years.

Among her many accomplishments, she was most proud of helping to integrate the nursing ranks of Monroe General Hospital in the late 1960s and winning the William Frist Humanitarian Award in 1985 for work in treating HIV patients at what is now Lower Keys Medical Center.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Allison Stewart of St. Petersburg, Florida, her daughter and son-in-law Frances and William Donovits of Trion, Georgia; her niece, Susan Swymer, and her nephews Mark Stanton and Chris Stanton, all in her hometown of Palatka, Florida.

Rest in peace, Martha.
