Peter Armstrong Whelan, 93, died Jan. 18, 2023 at his home in Key West, Florida. He was born May 17, 1929 in Manhattan, New York, to Albert J. Whelan Sr. and Ida Quigley Whelan Watkins. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Albert J. Whelan Jr., sister-in-law, Ida Foster Whelan, of Kittery Point, Maine, nephew, Richard Q. Whelan and great-nephew Richard Q. Whelan Jr. of Merion Station, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his nephews and their spouses, Peter A. Whelan II (Karen Alderfer), Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Virginia Jarvis Whelan, Merion Station, Pennsylvania, and Franklin W. Whelan (Catherine Stocking), Fishers, Indiana. He has six great-nephews, one great-niece and four great-great-nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his dedicated companions and first cousins, Nancy Quigley Forrester and Dede Quigley of Key West.
